Soul Savior privacy policy

Soul Savior is a single-player game. This page explains what data it uses, which is very little, and who handles it.

Last updated: October 12, 2026

The short version

Techinox doesn't run accounts, game servers, analytics or ads for Soul Savior. Your progress is saved on your computer, and Steam handles purchases and its own features. If you choose to connect a TikTok account, only what you approve is used, and only for the feature you asked for.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Techinox, the independent developer of Soul Savior, based in France (see the legal notice). Contact: thetechinox@gmail.com

Data stored on your device

Your saves, settings and run history are stored on your own computer. Techinox has no access to them. World seeds are just numbers: you only share them if you decide to.

Data handled by Steam

When you buy and play Soul Savior on Steam, Valve processes your Steam account, purchase, achievements, playtime and, if you use it, Steam Cloud copies of your saves. Valve's privacy policy applies to this.

Through Steam, Techinox only sees aggregated statistics such as sales, wishlists and achievement completion rates, plus anything you post publicly, such as reviews or forum messages.

Connecting a TikTok account

Some Soul Savior features or tools may let you connect a TikTok account, for example to share a clip of your run. This is always optional.

  • What is collected: only the information you approve on TikTok's permission screen, such as your TikTok display name, avatar and account identifier, and the permission to publish content you choose to share.
  • Why: only to carry out the action you asked for, such as posting your clip to your account.
  • Legal basis: your consent, given when you connect your account.
  • How long: the access granted by TikTok is kept only as long as your account stays connected. When you disconnect it, the related data is deleted.
  • What never happens: your TikTok data isn't sold, shared with advertisers or used for profiling, and nothing is posted without your action.

You can withdraw access at any time from the app permissions in your TikTok settings, or by emailing Techinox. TikTok's own privacy policy also applies.

When you contact Techinox

If you email Techinox or post on the Discord server, Techinox receives what you send, such as your email address or username and your message. It's used only to reply and to improve the game, and emails are deleted after three years without contact. Discord's privacy policy applies to the server.

Children

Soul Savior isn't aimed at children. Techinox doesn't knowingly collect personal data from children under 15. If you think a child has sent data, contact Techinox and it will be deleted.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can, at any time:

  • ask for a copy of the data held about you (access);
  • have inaccurate data corrected (rectification);
  • have your data deleted (erasure);
  • ask for processing to be limited or object to it (restriction, objection);
  • receive the data you provided in a reusable format (portability);
  • withdraw consent you gave, without affecting what was done before.

Email thetechinox@gmail.com to use any of these rights. You'll get an answer within one month. If you think your rights aren't respected, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France) or to the authority in your own EU country.

Changes to this policy

If Soul Savior adds a feature that uses more data, this policy will be updated before that feature goes live, with a new date at the top.
